In my work I wish to communicate ideas. The two-dimensional surface and it´s potential to create a fictional space, I consider, to be the ideal way to present these ideas upon. In my drawings I often work with sculptures and 3-dimensional objects. Or rather sculptures and 3-dimensional objects as ideas. My drawings might be viewed as propositions to artworks and/or inventions not yet realized in a physical reality. Simplicity is something that has become more and more important to me. My strive towards simplicity, and my view on art as a language, has led my work to become more sign-like. The sign or symbol is the smallest part of language. It is there, in a physical sense, but at the same time it also points to something outside itself: to the abstract. So what I work with is inventing 3-dimensional objects and then presenting these objects, as both idea and as sign, onto a flat surface. Hoping it to become like a new alphabet of my own.
